Exploitation, Abuse and Neglect
This is an adult focussed group. It is the adult counterpart to the Neglect and Exploitation sub-boards which are child focussed. The nature of the subject means that they are easier to approach if this division is made.
The purpose of the group is to monitor the evidence of adults at risk that suffer from, or are at risk of, exploitation, abuse or neglect (including self-neglect).
The current objectives of the group are:
- To oversee the partnership response to exploitation, abuse and neglect (including self-neglect).
- To request and receive assurance that appropriate safeguarding practice, procedures and policies are in place to prevent or where appropriate minimise exploitation, abuse and neglect (including self-neglect).
- To ensure that case based learning at local, regional and national level informs the work of this group as it relates to exploitation, abuse and neglect (including self-neglect).
- To monitor emerging and existing safeguarding themes in this area and request assurance that the partnership are responding appropriately in terms of practice review and service provision.
