Domestic Violence and Abuse

Vision:

To reduce the impact of domestic abuse on the population of Trafford by developing and implementing a sustainable system wide approach to prevention, early intervention, response and support.

Partnership Goals:

  • To reduce the occurrence and impact of domestic abuse by developing and implementing a sustainable approach to prevention, intervention, response and support
  • To ensure that domestic abuse in all its forms is recognised and responded to via an end-to-end system
  • To ensure consistency and better performance in the response to domestic abuse across local areas, agencies and sectors
  • To ensure that the Local Partnership Board continues to meet its legal duties under the Domestic Abuse Act
  • Ensuring shared responsibility of Domestic Abuse across Trafford

How the Partnership will know change has been achieved:

  • An increase in the number of referrals received to Domestic Abuse services from key partners
  • A review of the domestic abuse needs assessment will highlight key areas in need of change and improvement
  • Monitoring activity of Commissioned Services will take place on a quarterly basis
  • A multi-agency approach to joint auditing on the impact of Domestic Abuse cross-referenced with Children’s Services
  • Monitor the implementation and progress of the Domestic Abuse Strategy 3 year action plan Annual Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities Domestic Abuse return is complete.
  • By developing a public facing campaign for Domestic Abuse which mirrors Safeguarding is Everyone’s Business’
  • By ensuring the local needs assessment is robust and refreshed annually (JSNA)
  • Partners will work collectively to bring together comparable, accurate and consistent data related to domestic abuse on areas such as commissioning, provision and gap analysis.
  • Monitoring and implementing the learning from Domestic Homicide Reviews

How the Partnership will achieve our Priority:

  • By continuing to implement and monitor the effectiveness of the domestic abuse strategy which
  • incorporates and promotes awareness, protects and supports and pursues and deters
  • By raising the profile of domestic abuse across all Trafford partnership organisations and services.
  • The TSSP will take assurance for Domestic Abuse from the Safer Trafford Partnership
  • By strengthening collaboration with Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and our partners to ensure an effective, evidenced based response and management of offenders through to conviction

Walking on Eggshells: Made By Mortals production, Eggshells is a short film about domestic abuse in older adults.
