The NHS has launched a new adult health campaign to encourage people to be more healthy, after research recently revealed that anyone who is overweight is at greater risk of becoming critically ill or dying from COVID-19.
Called Better Health, it aims to help overweight adults get down to a healthy range where their body has a better chance of fighting diseases like coronavirus, cancer and heart disease.
Nearly two thirds (63%) of adults in the UK are overweight or living with obesity. This extra weight causes pressure to build up around vital organs, making it harder for the body to fight against disease.
