National Safeguarding Adults Week: Monday 16-Sunday 22 November 2020

From the Ann Craft Trust:

National Safeguarding Adults Week 2020 will take place from 16- 22 November.

In Safeguarding Adults Week we aim to create a time where we can all focus on safeguarding adults.

Each day will be focused on a different safeguarding adults at risk issue.

Everyone, from all walks of life, should be aware of the role they can play in helping to prevent abuse. We should all know how to spot the signs of abuse, and the actions we should take if we spot any signs.

That’s what Safeguarding Adults Week is all about. We want to start a nationwide conversation about safeguarding – so we can all be better, together.

Safeguarding Adults Week 2019 was a huge success. We reached nearly six million people on Twitter alone. This year, we want to reach even more.

Safeguarding Adults Week 2020 – Key Themes

Every year, we use Safeguarding Adults Week to draw attention to certain key safeguarding themes:

  • Monday – Safeguarding and Wellbeing
  • Tuesday –Adult Grooming
  • Wednesday – Understanding Legislation
  • Thursday – Creating Safer Places
  • Friday – Organisational Abuse
  • Saturday – Sport & Activity
  • Sunday – Safeguarding in Your Community

You can read more about these themes and our wider areas of focus here.

We’re already putting resources together for each theme, and you can sign up below to receive resources and updates direct to your inbox.

In the meantime, get in touch!

Let us know what sort of resources would help you spread the word. And if you’re already making plans for this year’s Safeguarding Adults Week, we’d like to know about them! Tell us what you’ve got planned, and let us know how we can help you. Again: This is all about being better, together.

And remember to use our hashtag any time you talk about the week on social media: #SafeguardingAdultsWeek
